Kerry Washington, Craig Robinson and David Alan Grier have been cast in the 34th Street Films comedy 'We the Peeples,' states the Hollywood Reporter .
34th Street's Matt Moore is producing along with Tyler Perry Studios president Ozzie Areu, Paul Hall and Stephanie Allain, who produced 'Hustle and Flow' and 'Something New.'
Written and directed by Tina Gordon Chism, the story follows what happens when a child psychologist (Robinson) surprises his girlfriend (Washington) by showing up at her political family's annual get-together at their Sag Harbor vacation home only to find them desperately in need of therapy.
Washington and Grier recently starred together on Broadway in David Mamet's play, 'Race.' Her upcoming films include the December release of 'Night Catches Us' with Anthony Mackie and Tyler Perry's adaptation of 'For Colored Girls,' which Lionsgate releases on Nov. 5.
For his starring role in 'Race,' Grier was awarded with a Tony nomination.
Robinson recently appeared in 'Hot Tub Time Machine.'
Tina Gordon Chism had written the screenplays for 'ATL' and 'Drumline.'
Lionsgate will release 'We the Peeples,' which starts shooting in Connecticut in November.
