Yes, the 'True Blood' Rolling Stone cover is pretty sexy. Pretty much. Some people would find the idea of bodies being splattered with blood more disgusting than appealing, yet it's understandable given that it's THE theme of 'True Blood': sharing blood, stealing blood, healing through blood and the like. Somehow on the show, the writers for 'True Blood' are able to convey the mixture of pleasure and misery involved with blood themes.
Yet, on this Rolling Stone cover the stars of 'True Blood' -- Alexander Skarsgard, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer -- look more confused than mired in complex passion. Discussions on the Web about this Rolling Stone cover range from critiquing the careless application of the obviously fake blood, to the ongoing debate over whether Anna Paquin is actually hot or not.
But the BV readers are bringing the REAL question to bear regarding this somewhat controversial 'True Blood' Rolling Stone cover: where are Tara and Lafayette? Seriously. HBO and Alan Ball must know that millions of African Americans tune into the show solely because they love these black characters -- in addition to the millions of people of all races who love Tara and Lafayette, too. On the Black Voices message board about the 'True Blood' Rolling Stone cover started by member itzy8940, our astute audience rightly complains:

harlemiteblack: illuminati! Where my girl Lafayette at?
laudidadee: This is supposed to be sexy????? Well.......... at least they're objectifying some men for a change.
Great points made by all. But what do you think? Would it be asking too much for Rolling Stone to have included at least ONE black character from 'True Blood' on the cover as -- let's face it -- it's a sex-fueled ensemble show. These three don't pull in millions of viewers on their own. Or are black people complaining about something irrelevant just because we can -- AGAIN. I will certainly start the complaining by stating that Tara and Lafayette on this cover would have made it hotter -- and this 'True Blood' Rolling Stone cover is just not sexy AT ALL.
Who would you cast for the 'True Blood' Rolling Stone cover -- if you are truly incensed with Alexander Skarsgard, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer -- if they could do it all again?
