Parisian couture house Lanvin is the latest brand to collaborate with H&M. Lanvin's artistic director Alber Elbaz and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver designed the highly anticipated collection that will hit U.S. stores on November 20th, and goes global on the 23rd. The duo has created a heartfelt collection for both women and men that is luxurious, modern, but rooted with French tradition."H&M approached us to collaborate and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less," says Elbaz, who joined Lanvin in 2001 to revamp the women's Pret-à-Porter collection. "I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public."
The collection features cosmetics, accessories, shoes, womenswear and menswear. There is something to fancy at every price point, which ranges from $19.95 to $350. "It is very much a Lanvin collection, using their cut and tailoring, with lots of focus on form and details. The launch in November is going to be full of wonderful surprises," says Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M. One such surprise includes a special film that highlights the glamour and sophistication that the Lanvin brand has brought to H&M.
