It was a whirlwind of a day for President Barack Obama, who yesterday went from meeting with small business owners at a sandwich shop in Edison, New Jersey, to hob knobbing ith fashions elite at the West Village home of Anna Wintour, Vogue's editor-in-chief.President Obama attended two $30,400-a-person fundraisers in Manhattan, which were organized by the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Secret Service, New York City Police, roof top snipers and a helicopter hovered over Wintour's townhouse on Sullivan Stree, as President Obama's motorcade made its away in to a white tent (pictured below) that was erected over Wintour's entryway.
The President arrived at 7:20 p.m. and stayed roughly for an hour and a half. Aol. Black Voices was on the scene in front of Wintour's home and caught a glimpse of the 50 attendees that included designers Diane Von Furstenberg, Donna Karen, Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta and Calvin Klein, who hosted an Obama fundraiser with Wintour in 2008.
DNC aides told reporters, who were not allowed inside the event, that not everyone in attendance gave $30,400, which is the maximum under federal law that an individual can contribute to a party.
