Unnamed sources in law enforcement are saying that the body of former Atlanta Hawks player Lorenzen Wright was found in the woods in Memphis. Wright was scheduled to drive back to Atlanta in July with his children when he disappeared in the middle of the night. The 34-year old Wright was last seen at 2 a.m. on July 19. He was leaving his ex-wife's home at the time.
Wright was a star at The University of Memphis before being drafted number 7 in the 1996 NBA draft. He was selected by the L.A. Clippers, but spent a large part of his career playing for the Hawks.
Last season, Wright didn't play when he wasn't picked up by any NBA team. He was reportedly having serious financial problems: His $1.3 million dollar home in Tennessee was repossessed in May and his $1.1 million dollar home in Atlanta was also repossessed in January. There is no indication regarding whether or not the financial problems played a role in his disappearance.
