In a day and age where there's an overwhelming amount of mainstream attention to celebrity cheating, there's a new play that's also highlighting the tabloid phenomenon.
And Jackee Harry is headlining the bill.
The lovable, funnywoman , who sassed things up on the 1980s hit sitcom '227,' joins the all-star cast in JD Lawrence's new fall play 'Me & Mrs. Jones.' The new show is the highly-anticipated follow-up to his hit play 'The Clean Up Woman,' which Harry also starred in.
'America's Next Top Model' winner and former 'Young and the Restless' actress Eva Marcille joins former BLACKstreet crooner Dave Hollister, 'Soul Food' actor Darrin Dewitt Henson, Tammy Turner of BET's 'Sunday Best' fame and comedian Red Grant are also in the cast.
The playwright said 'Me & Mrs. Jones,' which chronicles the relationships of three different women, "speaks to every person that's in love, been in love or dreaming of the day that they find that special someone to love."
Since becoming the first African American woman to win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, the North Carolina native, born Jacqueline Yvonne Harry, has maintained a presence on television for the past 30 years.
Harry is best known for her role as Sandra Clark on '227' and later wowed a new generation of television viewers as 'Lisa Landry' on the 1990s teen comedy 'Sister, Sister.' Most recently, she was a recurring character named Vanessa on the CW sitcom 'Everybody Hates Chris.'
She shed nearly forty pounds on the second season of VH1's 'Celebrity Fit Club,' but for most of the past decade, the 'Women of Brewster Place' star has spent much of the past few years entertaining her fans on the road.
Harry has appeared on Broadway and nationally in 'The Boys From Syracuse,' 'Damn Yankees' and 'A Christmas Carol,' and brought down the house nightly at theaters across the country as Jasmine Jones in Lawrence's sold-out 'Clean Up Woman,' which is arguably one of the highest grossing gospel stage plays of all time.
This time around, her character is having a hard time getting her 47 year-old, wannabe rapper ex-boyfriend to pay child support for their child.
'Me & Mrs. Jones' will open on the weekend of Sept.27 at the Palace Theatre in New Haven, CT before making stops in Baltimore, Chicago, Cincinnati and Boston. Official tour dates are listed below.

Black Emmy Award Winners
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has presented the 'Primetime Emmy Awards' since 1949, yet fewer than 50 African American actors and actresses have received top honors. Even Bill Cosby, whose 'Cosby Show' was the number one program for five consecutive seasons, never won an Emmy. Overall, there have been 36 notable African American winners - and seven repeat winners -- in main categories. We take a look at a few through the years.

Emmy Fact: Although the Chicago native was first recognized by fans for his work opposite Denzel Washington in 'Glory,' he quickly made his fame on the small screen. Throughout the years, Braugher was nominated six times and won twice: in 1998 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 'Homicide: Life on the Street' and in 2006 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for 'Thief.'
Emmy Extra: Braugher is a 2010 nominee for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his work on 'Men of a Certain Age.'

Emmy Fact: One would think that the Philadelphia-born comedian would've won a coveted Primetime Emmy for his work on the top-rated 'Cosby Show,' but he didn't. He won three awards for his work as Det. Alexander Scott in the 1960s buddy series 'I Spy.' He also won for 'The Bill Cosby Special' in 1968. In 2003, he received the Bib Hope Humanitarian Award.
