Dr. Marc Lamont Hill is the new host of the news magazine series, 'Our World with Black Enterprise.'
The 30-minute, weekly program airs in national syndication on weekends as well as on the TV One cable network.
"I'm excited by the opportunity to take over the reigns of 'Our World,'" Hill told BV Buzz. "The show has set an incredible standard for representing, informing, and inspiring our community. I want to continue that tradition by bringing the show to the next generation of viewers."
The Philadelphia-bred cultural anthropologist, who regularly offers political and social commentaries on networks like CNN, Fox News and MSNBC, makes his hosting debut when 'Our World' kicks off its new season on Oct. 2.
Hill, who also works as a professor at Columbia University, is the author of the book 'Beats, Rhymes, and Classroom Life: Hip-Hop Pedagogy, and the Politics of Identity.'
'Our World with Black Enterprise' premiered in Sept. of 2006. The show was previously hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist Ed Gordon, who left the series this year to return to BET Networks' news division.
