Dr. Conrad Murray Wants Michael Jackson's Fluid Samples

The saga continues surrounding the involuntary manslaughter case involving Michael Jackson and his former personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray. The latest in the seemingly unending legal battle now involves Murray's team of lawyers, who are requesting to get samples of Jackson's bodily fluids so that they can use them as evidence in their defense.

Murray, who was the pop icon's cardiologist, was charged in February for administering a lethal dose of the anesthetic propofol to Jackson. The good doc has pleaded not guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter and his legal team have stated that the physician did not give Jackson anything that "should have" killed him. Jackson died of acute propofol intoxication more than a year ago.

Jackson's bodily fluids will reportedly be retested to determine the accuracy level of the propofol found in the mega-entertainer's body.

According to TMZ, the L.A. county coroner has the fluid specimens and they are being preserved.

A Los Angeles superior court judge has set a preliminary hearing for the 57-year-old doctor that will begin Jan. 4th.

On Monday, Murray was present in the courtroom to receive the hearing date. Jackson matriarch, Katherine, and husband, Joseph, were also in attendance to hear the judge's ruling.
