Stacy Francis was the favorite contestant of Simon and Paula's but this time out she blew it. Stacy over-sang with a zeal that had all the loveliness of a hurt seal. She held one note for an eternity trying to impress then combined that with runs that caused Simon to stop her. Simon very flatly stated to her "less is more". It was easy to agree with him on this critique. Stacy later mused that she never had formal voice training and if one of the coaches could just work with her she would be much better. That is the difference with The X Factor, they are intent on helping as well as discovering new talent. In her second round, Stacy came out in the group session and sand U2's hit Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, with subdued and controlled passion. Her vocals were showcased even more with the clear tone and straight forward singing. The poker-faced judges let a slight nod of approval slip out. It was impressive.
