R&B songstress Brandy is being sued by an international DJ for neglecting to fulfill an obligation to deliver two 16-bar verses as her Timbaland created, rap alter-ego, Bran'Nu. The reality star newcomer is being accused of taking a $10,000 check and not sticking to her end of the deal.
Marcel Albert, better known as Marc Mysterio, an internationally known house music artist, and his Stockholm-based management team are seeking upward of $6 million from Brandy for breach of contract, which includes the loss of income, damage to their reputation and the inability to replace her with equal or better talent.
Papers were filed Friday at the Los Angeles Superior Court. According to Albert's attorney, Laurence Clarke, the case will be a quick win for his client. "They had a contract, it's quite clear what the arrangement and terms were, and they were supposed to provide [vocals]," he said.
"Marc and his colleagues made all these arrangements for international commercialization. We're trying to contrast the profits now against if she would've actually performed on the record as she was supposed to -- that's why you have contracts."
This is not the first time Brandy has been sued in court. In 2007, she was named in a $50-million wrongful death lawsuit, stemming from a 2006 car accident that left a Mom of two dead.
