'The Sing-Off': Messiah's MenThe members of Messiah's Men are on a mission from God, sort of. They met while refugees in Liberia, and eventually immigrated to the United States. There is a large Liberian community in Minneapolis where they all currently reside. They would love to win this contest but they have already won in life by escaping their war-torn country. They aptly describe their sound as Afro-centric, Gospel and Soul. They sang "People Get Ready." Their sound is slightly reminiscent of Lady Blacksmith Mambazo but not nearly as polished. The best thing they brought to the stage was their ebullient attitudes and their smooth dashiki dress. As far as their sound, it is amateurish; the pronunciation was weak and the tone wobbled. Shawn says that he felt the Afro-centric, Gospel and soul sounds they put out. All three judges agreed that the performance was not technically perfect. Messiah's Men were fun to watch but were sent home for not being as good as the others.
