Tracy Morgan's comments about Sarah Palin left TNT executives red-faced Thursday night.
The "30 Rock" star, appearing on "Inside the NBA" before the Knicks and Heat tipped off at Madison Square Garden, told Charles Barkley that the former Alaska governor was "good masturbation material."
The cable network released a statement shortly after the unscheduled interview condemning Morgan's comments.
"It's unfortunate Mr. Morgan showed a lack of judgment on our air with his inappropriate comments," Turner spokesman Jeff Pomeroy told USA Today.
Morgan was invited onto the show by analysts Kenny Smith and Barkley in hopes that the brash comedian could settle an argument. Smith and Barkley asked Morgan who was better looking? Morgan's "30 Rock" co-star Tina Fey or Palin.
"Yo, let me tell you something about Sarah Palin," said Morgan. "She's good masturbation material. The glasses and all of that...great material."
The remarks left Smith and Barkley laughing nervously while "Inside" anchor Ernie Johnson was rendered speechless before bashfully trying to move the show in a different direction.
