Within recent days, casting of ABC's rebooted series, 'Charlie's Angels,' has started to take shape, with the hiring of Annie Ilonzeh and most recently, Dania Ramirez.
Ironically, both ladies appeared together in an episode of HBO's 'Entourage,' where they played employees of Turtle, played by Jerry Ferrara.
Produced by Sony Pictures TV and Drew Barrymore's Flower Films, 'Charlie's Angels' is a modern take on the Angels set in Miami and centers on a new trio of young and sexy private eyes - Kate, Abby and Marisa - working for a wealthy mystery man.
Ilonzeh, who's currently on the long running soap opera 'General Hospital' as Edward Quartermaine's great-granddaughter, Maya Ward, was the first person cast in pilot as Kate, a very smart and very athletic ex-cop and a master of martial arts.
Deadline.com stated that she is the most serious of our 3 Angels but also knows how to let her hair down and have a great time.
While it hasn't been confirmed by the actress, her management, or the network, celebrity make-up artist Wendi Lynn Avignone recently tweeted that Dania Ramirez was also in the cast.
"Dania and I worked together on @Heroes and @Entourage...here we r "Charlies Angels!"
The post was later deleted.
Robert Wagner has been confirmed to provide the voice of Charlie.
The original series, about three women (Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson, and Jaclyn Smith) who work for a private investigation agency, ran on ABC from 1976 to 1981 and was one of the most successful series of the 1970s.Here's the episode in which Ilonzeh and Ramirez appeared on Entourage.
