The Miami Heat showed up in Los Angeles to deliver a Christmas message: We are for real and there's nothing you can do about it. LeBron James played the role of delivery agent, dropping a ferocious triple double on the Lakers on prime time television. The Heat dominated the game for the entire time with a decisive 96 - 80 victory on LA's home court.LeBron James had 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, delivering yet another outstanding performance on Christmas day. He did the same thing to the Lakers last year on the same day in front of the same national audience (except he was a Cleveland Cavalier at the time). It appears that the Heat are finding their synergy: Their 23 - 9 record puts them near the top of the NBA, and they are clearly the hottest team in the league, losing just one out of their last 14 games. Anyone who wondered if the Miami Heat could win a title isn't asking that question anymore.
Kobe Bryant wasn't a slouch, but didn't play very well. Bryant had 17 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds on his way to a loss. Magic Johnson, who worked as a commentator after the game, made a very clear point that America needs to stop attacking LeBron James and support him for what he is: arguably the best basketball player in the country and one of the greatest players in history. James makes that point over and over every single day.
