It's that time of the year again where food, folks and fun are in abundance. When we're not relishing in the music, morsels and mayhem of the holiday season, we usually like to gather around to catch up on some of our favorite holiday flicks.

Holiday Film Guide
With the holidays upon us, we wanted to share some of the best films the entire family can enjoy watching while celebrating the spirit of Christmas. Check them out.
'The Kid Who Loved Christmas'
Starring Sammy Davis Jr. , in his last movie appearance, Cicely Tyson, and Michael Warren, this 1990 film is about a boy who is finally about to be adopted when unexpectedly his adoptive mother is killed in a car accident. The father tries to do what he can to continue with the adoption, but he encounters many roadblocks. The father and young boy's only wish is to be together as a family for Christmas.
'Jingle All The Way'
This 1996 family comedy film starred starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sinbad, Phil Hartman, Rita Wilson, Jake Lloyd and Robert Conrad. The story focuses on two rival fathers, workaholic Howard Langston (Schwarzenegger) and postal worker Myron Larabee (Sinbad), both desperately trying to retrieve a Turbo-Man action figure for their respective sons on a last minute shopping spree on Christmas Eve.
'Disney's A Christmas Carol'
Based on Charles Dickens' 1843 novel, the film was released in Disney Digital 3-D and was the first Disney movie in IMAX 3-D. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, Jim Carrey stars in a multitude of roles, including Ebenezer Scrooge as a young, middle-aged, and old man, and the three ghosts who haunt Scrooge.
'Christmas at Water's Edge'
Keisha Knight Pulliam stars in this 2004 family film about a spoiled, wealthy college girl who is used to getting everything she wants for Christmas. To help her learn the real meaning of the holiday, an unlikely angel in disguise (played by Pooch Hall) comes into her life.
'The Perfect Holiday'
Produced in 2007 by Queen Latifah, this holiday dramedy had a cast that included Terrence Howard, Gabrielle Union, Morris Chestnut, and Katt Williams. When woman unlucky in love meets the man of her dreams, little does she realize that the man is not what he seems to be. With her kids looking to make their mom, this 'Santa Claus' has to come up with enough 'fables' to keep his charade intact, while her ex-husband, played by Charlie Murphy, is looking to get back into their lives.
'Elf'
Five years prior to directing the blockbuster film 'Iron Man', Jon Favreau had a hit with the 2003 Christmas comedy that starred Will Ferrell as a grown man who still believed he grew up as an elf. When he finally finds his family, it takes them a while to get used to his compulsion for getting into trouble. James Caan, Zooey Deschanel and Ed Asner co-starred with Ferrell.
'A Diva's Christmas Carol'
This 2000 film starred Vanessa Williams and Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas and was a remake of Dicken's classic. The story is about a very nasty pop singer who gets a reality check by three Christmas spirits: Ghost of Christmas Past (Kathy Griffin), Ghost of Christmas Present (John Taylor from Duran Duran), and Ghost of Christmas Future.
'This Christmas'
Produced by Rainforest Films (Will Packer and Rob Hardy) in 2007, this holiday film starred many of today's rising stars with Columbus Short, Idris Elba, Chris Brown, and Lauren London included in the cast. When all the Whitfield's siblings come home for Christmas for the first time in years, they've brought plenty of baggage with them. As secrets are revealed and family bonds are tested, everyone must help each other discover the true meaning of family.
'A Christmas Story'
This is the film that most people remember growing up with. Directed by Bob Clark, the 1983 film was based on the short stories and semi-fictional anecdotes of author and raconteur Jean Shepherd, including material from his books 'In God We Trust', 'All Others Pay Cash' and 'Wanda Hickey's Night of Golden Memories,' Peter Billingsley played starred in the film as Ralphie Parker, the film's protagonist, a nine year old imaginative dreamer. Ralphie has to convince his parents, teachers, and Santa that a Red Ryder BB gun really is the perfect gift for the 1940's.
