Kelly Rowland
Kelly Rowland has been having a rocky time since she left the guiding patronage of Mathew Knowles as father figure and manager. Aside from her international hit song 'When Love Takes Over,' Rowland has not been able to kindle the mainstream success she was able to achieve with Destiny's Child on her own. Too bad 'When Love Takes Over' was a song on the album of superproducer and DJ David Guetta, not one of Rowland's three failed solo albums. Aside from making personal appearances singing, it is unclear what Kelly's sources of income have been since her Destiny's Child years. At the same time, she has allegedly been known to spend big.

And now to top it all off, Kelly is facing financial persecution from the last institution you want on your case -- the IRS. The Detroit News reports:

Grammy-Award winning singer Kelly Rowland, sidekick to Beyonce in the group Destiny's Child, owes the IRS more than $98,000 in delinquent federal taxes, according to public records.

Rowland, 29, rose to fame in the girl group, which broke through with the 1999 hit tune "Bills, Bills, Bills." After the group broke up, she released a few solo albums and maintains an acting career that included portraying Motown legend (and ex-Detroit Councilwoman/tax delinquent) Martha Reeves in a 2003 episode of the TV show "American Dreams."

Let's hope that Ms. Kelly is not behind on her bills, because she has run out of money to pay them. It's unfortunately common for celebrities to get into tax trouble because their accountants are asleep on the job, while the money for their taxes is there. Or at least this is the excuse that stars most frequently give for why they owe Uncle Sam. There is no way to tell why Kelly Roland owes the IRS almost $100,000. Perhaps it was a simple error in money management. We've all been there. You always have more bills when you have more money. And the more bills you have, the easier it is to let one slip through the cracks.
