When it's cold outside, it's tempting to spend the next few months wearing pants to work. But the weather is no excuse to land in a fashion rut. Take a look at how some of your favorite stars rock dresses and skirts in the winter months.
It's so tempting to cover up as much skin as possible during the winter months. Luckily, long is in when it comes to dresses and skirts! Fashionistas like Chanel Iman, Genevieve Jones and Rachel Roy have been seen rocking the maxi-skirt trend and you can too.
Try this black Tall Basic Maxi skirt from Topshop ($36, topshop.com). If you're feeling a little adventurous, cop a more eye-catching skirt like this Ruffled Layers Maxiskirt from Free People ($128, freepeople.com) or this ASOS Africa Printed Maxi skirt ($77.58, asos.com) with a solid colored sweater. Pair them with heels, boots or flats.
These Heavy Opaque Tights in a mushroom color from The Gap ($14.50, gap.com) are more interesting than basic black, and they can still be worn with a number of colors.
Unless you plan on spending the day shoveling snow or your office doesn't believe in heaters, chances are you won't freeze to death if you forgo pants from time to time this winter. Just make sure you accessorize! Kelly Rowland and Zoe Kravitz both dared to bare their legs -- in a skirt and dress respectively -- but they layered on the top with scarves and jackets.
A blazer like this one from American Apparel ($85, americanapparel.com). It's light enough to easily layer and this Cashmere Qi Solitaire Shawl ($210, shopbob.com) is so comfy, you'll never want to take it off!
Regardless of what you make your winter uniform, feel and look good and make sure you have fun with it!
