Despite being separated from her amazing closet back in Washington, First Lady Michelle Obama still stepped out in style during an official presidential trip to India. The First Lady and President Obama landed last Saturday and soon began making their way through Mumbai and on to the capital city of New Delhi.

As usual, all eyes are on Mrs. Obama's wardrobe, with many expecting her to embrace the local Indian style. For the most part, she is staying true to her original, but classic approach to fashion.

Michelle Obama arrived in India looking regal and stately in a soft blue tie-dye dress, metallic heels and a three-strand pearl necklace.

Michelle then spent time visiting local children, sporting an olive J. Crew lace-top and an Erickson Beamon turquoise flower pin.

During a fun-filled tour of Holy Name High School, Mrs. O sported a classy combination, pairing a black and white tweed shift dress with a cute and colorful pink cardigan. A chunky embellished necklace topped her look and black kitten heels were comfortable enough to allow her to jump right in to the ceremonial dancing.

The President and First Lady spent an afternoon together in New Delhi, with Mrs. Obama standing out against the muted sand in a custom-made turquoise dress and cardigan by Peter Som.

For a dinner at the home of India's Prime Minister, the First Lady opted for a regal Indian inspired evening jacket and sleek column dress. Her striking gold and silver tasseled necklace is by Ranjana Khan.
