A 17-year-old girl was brutally stabbed to death then stuffed in to a closet allegedly by the 40-year-old male lover of her girlfriend. The Bronx, N.Y., man, who suspected that the teen was vying for the affections of his 25-year-old girlfriend, wanted to end the lesbian relationship for good.
The body of the young girl, Luzbenet Ramirez, was discovered Tuesday night in the apartment of her lover, Rosanna Castro.
Jose Mendez confessed to New York City police that his girlfriend, Castro, grabbed Ramirez by the neck and held her,as he unceasingly butchered the young girl about 30 times in a jealous rage. Mendez had convinced himself that killing Ramirez would put an end to the lesbian tryst permanently.
According to prosecutors who spoke to the New York Daily News, Mendez said, "She told me to get two garbage bags and we could put her on the roof and no one would find her. "She said she wanted to start again working on our relationship."
The jealous lover, who had just only one day before been released from jail after a 35-day stint for assault, decided to instead, wrap the victim's body in plastic and shove the remains in to Castro's closet.
Ramirez's family is heartbroken over her murder. The teen's 14-year-old brother, Benny, said, "My dad just died five months ago and now it's just me and my mom."
