Don't call it a comeback.

His ABC drama 'My Generation' might have been canceled after just two airings last month, but Mehcad Brooks isn't staying idle for long.

The former 'True Blood' hunk and Calvin Klein underwear spokesman has become the first actor from a canceled fall series to line up a new gig.

The Texas native has just been chosen to co-star on a new USA Network pilot titled 'Necessary Roughness.'

The show follows Danielle Santino, a sexy Long Island divorcee played by Callie Thomas, who becomes a therapist for a professional football team to make ends meet.

Like his former jock character Rolly on 'My Generation,' the 30-year-old NAACP Image Award nominee will play another athlete in 'Roughness.' This time as one of Dani's clients, a star wide receiver who has a streak of trouble with the law. Though his character is upset about being forced into counseling with Dani, he ends up bonding with her.

So, things are bound to be hot and heavy.

Brooks previously appeared on the short-lived ABC drama 'The Deep End,' 'Desperate Housewives' and 'The Game.' His movie roles include 'Glory Road' and 'Just Wright.'
