Summit Entertainment has announced that veteran actor Wendell Pierce has joined the cast of 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.'
Also added to the large ensemble are Olga Fonda, Janelle Froehlich, Masami Kosaka, Sebastiao Lemos, Amadou Ly, Ty Olsson, and Carolina Virguez.
Pierce is best known for his portrayal of Detective Bunk Moreland on the acclaimed HBO drama 'The Wire.' The New Orleans, Louisiana native is currently playing Antoine Batiste, a trombone player in HBO's new series, 'Treme.'
His previous film roles include Spike Lee's film, 'Get on the Bus,' Forrest Whitaker's 'Waiting to Exhale,' Chris Rock's 'I Think I Love My Wife,' and the upcoming Tanya Hamilton film, 'Night Catches Us,' with Anthony Mackie and Kerry Washington.
Bill Condon is directing the two-part 'Twilight' sequel, which stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.
'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1' will be released on Nov. 18, 2011, while 'Part 2' will be shown the following year, on Nov. 16, 2012.
