Hosted by Janet Jackson, Kerry Washington, Kimberly Elise & Anika Noni Rose, Tim Palen's living portraits of the actresses starring in Tyler Perry's 'For Colored Girls' were on display at the Lehmann Maupin Gallery in NYC on Oct.24.

Among cast members in attendance were Loretta Devine, Tessa Thompson, Khalil Kain, Richard Lawson, Thandie Newton, producer Roger Bobb, and author Ntozake Shange, who wrote the original play, 'For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf.'

Notable celebrities who came to show their support were director Lee Daniels, producer Lisa Cortes ('Precious'), Oscar winning screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher, actor Gbenga Akinnagbe, and actress Bianca Lawson.

Directed by Tyler Perry, the cast includes Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Loretta Devine, Anika Noni Rose, Thandie Newton, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, Phylicia Rashad, Macy Gray, Tessa Thompson, Michael Ealy, Hill Harper, Khalil Kain, Omari Hardwick and Richard Lawson.

Set for theatrical release of Nov.5, 'For Colored Girls' is based on Ntozake Shange's award-winning 1975 play of the same name. The story consists of a series of poems performed through a cast of nameless women known only by a color. The characters deal with subjects such as love, abandonment, rape and abortion.
