'America's Got Talent': Landau Sings Dean Martin

Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. is in the top ten but now he's trying to make the final four. The last time Landau sang, Piers thought it was not his best but the audience came through and Landau advanced. This time Landau switched it up and sang a Dean Martin hit, "Ain't That a Kick in the Head?" Landau is one of the smoothest crooners who could have fit in with the Rat Pack (save for the dreadlocks) easily. Today Landau may be a throwback to great singing and the hip lyrics of American standard music. He should be the next Nat King Cole with those velvet notes and cavalier smile. Vote for him America, and you will not be disappointed.

'America's Got Talent': Landau or the Kid

Tonight on America's Got Talent it was time to whittle the performers down to the top four acts to move on to the finale. All the other performers have been chosen and the last two to square off were the Black family man who sings standards, Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. and the eleven-year-old Anna Graceman. POPLYFE, the multicultural band with descendents of the Wiggins brothers in the band, were already chosen to move on to the final four. The dramatic music played, the lights dimmed and the name chosen was Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. He may have exactly what it takes to win it all. The man sings, a plus. The man sings standards, a huge plus. Finally, Landau is the story of a true under-dog, man who washed cars for a living while concealing the most velvet of voices.

'Big Brother': Kalia Gone

Kalia, the last black person left on Big Brother, is once again fighting to stay in the game. At one point Kalia goes into the bathroom to breakdown and cry, knowing that she will not make it past this elimination. Kalia played the game with gusto and took risks even if she later backed down from some of those risks. If Kalia made a mistake in this game it was second-guessing her bold moves. Kalia went back on certain moves that would have taken her further in the game or at least eliminated stronger players earlier. Rachel had to break the voting tie and chose to eliminate the threat, Kalia. She left to a round of applause.

'Famous Food': And The Winner Is...

DJ Paul survived to the end of the contest or restaurant opening, which was a feat in, and of it's self, considering Juicy J was fired the day before the opening of Lemon Basket. The Dolce group guys said at the time that DJ Paul was in their top choices of people to make partner. The guys were true to their word. DJ Paul proved over and over again that he could bring the money to the table, having paying guests dine at Lemon Basket. DJ Paul was chosen to be a partner. They presented him with business cards and DJ Paul commented that this was the first time he ever had business cards with his name on it. DJ Paul then gave what I call the obligatory Rising from the Ghetto speech. Listen to it for yourself in the video clip. I don't know why we as black people seem to be surprised when we win things. Way to go DJ Paul.

'The Talk': Mariah Is a Diva

We live a in a world where the word DIVA is a compliment, something to aspire to be. In order to be a DIVA one must have the attitude, the over-the-top character and finally the resources. Nick Cannon-Carey tells the ladies of The Talk that his wife is an absolute Diva! The last time Nick was on The Talk was two days before the birth of the twins. Julie asked if the birth was a big "production" like she hoped it would be. Nick realized that he was merely the Production Manager during the birth ceremony of his twins. Nick had a camera in one hand and adjusted the lights with the other hand. Mariah previously told Nick to make sure the lighting was good. That wasn't the only instruction Nick received. The biggest responsibility that Nick had during the birth was to play DJ. Mariah wanted the twins to be born to a certain song being played in the background. The song Mariah picked was the Live version of Fantasy Live in Madison Square Garden because Mariah wanted the babies to come out to Applause!!! Hours after the birth of the twins, Mariah was in a full gown and makeup so that her and Nick could renew their vows. Now that is a DIVA with little Divas in the making. Nick calls Mariah his Dream Girl.

'The Early Show': Full Figure Fashion

The fashion industry has finally made a major move toward making clothes for real people. According to this report, at least one-third of Americans are plus size yet the mainstream stores have mostly ignored them. Now, stores like Lane Bryant have led the charge with new technology in creating proportional clothing for full figured women. The average woman in America is a size 14. Lane Bryant uses body-scanning technology to create better fitting clothing. Fashion just began looking better.

Beyond Scared Straight': Jordan Learns His Lesson

Jordan is a twelve year-old kid who seems to brag about being part of a gang, just like his older brother. Jordan was suspended from school for using profanity directed at the principal and taking alcohol to school. Jordan brags in his solo interview that he likes the gang because of the sense of belonging and the security it gives him. Once Jordan is in the Scared Straight program he quickly changes his tune. One prisoner asks him what he wants to be when he grows up and the A/B student says, "A Politician". Maybe having a black POTUS influenced him. Soon there after, one prisoner calls him aside and tells him they have to fight. Jordan breaks down immediately. Jordan denounces any affiliation with gangs and tears stream down his face and the thought of a confrontation. The prisoner eventually proclaims Jordan a coward and with that his work is done, one more kid saved from prison. The police further explain the perils that Jordan is choosing to avoid when he stays away from illegal activity. Sometimes these programs work.

Toccara brought the remaining three men, Jason, Cedric and Frank to meet her family and have some fun. Cedric seemed to be having the most fun. Cedric remarked how her family is similar to his family, just fun-loving people. Each family member had his or her favorite person. The ex-football player, Frank, impressed dad. Mom and Grandma labeled Cedric a "charmer" and Jason impressed little sis. The object of the day was for Toccara to confer with her family to choose which individual would get more one-on-one time with Toccara. They played all sorts of beach style games and even interrogated the men. In the end, Cedric was chosen for the steamy date with Toccara.

Estelle is from London, England and has worked with several Stateside superstars including Kanye West (American Boy). Estelle stepped out to promo her new video, Break My Heart feat. Rick Ross. Terrence is a longtime fan of Estelle and the subject turned to her rapping skills. Estelle said her mission is to bring FUN back to hip-hop and stop all the posing, with that they broke out into a Freestyle diddy. Terrence provided the beat and Estelle broke into a rap freestyle lyric. Even though she was pulling from one of her tracks she peppered it with of the moment riffs. Don't sleep on Estelle she is talented and fashionable.

Dwight Gooden was one of the most dominant pitchers in Major League baseball. In 1985 Dwight Gooden earned the major league Triple Crown for pitchers. Dwight was the youngest recipient of the Cy Young Award at the age of 20. The list of accomplishments for Dwight Gooden is a plethora. Dwight, however, had drug problems. The drug problems eventually ruined his career and family. Dwight freely admits now, that the shame of his drug use propelled the alienation between him and his children. One of Dwight Gooden's dreams while he was still in the league was to play professionally alongside his son. Dwight's drug use destroyed many dreams. 'In the Flow with Affion Crockett' : Affion as Chris Rock

Affion does a skit in which he plays Chris Rock and another actor plays Rush Limbaugh. The skit is called, "Common Ground with Rush Limbaugh & Chris Rock". This skit is probably the most controversial of the evening. The Rush Limbaugh character has some inflammatory dialogue but the best part of the skit is how similar Affion's diction is to the real Chris Rock. Affion brings to the skit more than a good vocal imitation but also exaggerated hand gestures.

'TV One on One': Marvin Sapp on Wife's Death

Marvin Sapp sat down with Catherine Hughes, the founder of TVOne, to talk about the Verizon Wireless gospel competition tour, "How Sweet the Sound". The subject turned to last year's tradegy, the death of MaLinda Sapp, Marvin's wife, from colon cancer. Marvin met his wife when they were in the third grade and were inseparable from that moment on. Marvin even took MaLinda to the prom in high school. The two were rarely apart. MaLinda handled everything for Marvin from the business side to the rearing of their children. Marvin's children helped him cope with the loss of his wife. The children decided to go to school the day after their mom died. Marvin's youngest daughter, who was eleven at the time said, "Daddy, mommy would want us to keep it moving". That moment changed Marvin's perspective on the death of his soul mate. MaLinda's slogan in life was "keep it moving".

'Bridezillas': No Wedding Dress

Bride, Rae Rae had trouble finding just one dress. Rae Rae actually found three that she liked better than the previous dress. Finally, Rae Rae decided to order her wedding dress from a store in Paris, France. When Rae Rae got on the internet to check the delivery date for her dress, she realized the dress would arrive after her wedding. Rae Rae freaked out. Rae Rae tried to address the issue through a chat window with the store in Paris. Several things were lost in translation including whey the dress would not arrive in time. According to Rae Rae the people in France said, "The reason why my dress isn't here today is because according to them, it's not today yet". Rae Rae went on the explain that she is on a different "time level" (than Paris, France) "our today is not there today and their today is two days from now", according to Rae Rae. Rae Rae is obviously confused. Yes Paris, France is in a different "Time Zone" (not time level) than Ohio but Paris is also to the East and therefore, ahead of the U.S. in time and not behind. Paris is approximately six hours ahead of Ohio this time of the year.

'Sunday Best': Shocking Confession

This Sunday was the two-part finale of Sunday Best. A lot happened in that multi-episode airing including the announcement of the winner of season four, Amber Bullock. For some this is the lead story, Amber Bullock beat out the very talented Andrea Helms. In my opinion Le'Andria Johnson, season three winner, stole the show. Kim Burrell interviewed Le'Andria about what she has gone through since winning the competition. The rumors around the internet were that Le'Andria have become an alcoholic and showing up drunk at several places. Le'Andria is also trying to promote her new single and cd. To Le'Andria's credit she confessed to what trials and tribulations she experienced, including the violent death of her brother and a house and church in foreclosure. Le'Andria had to find her way back to her spiritual center. The single, "Jesus", co-written by Le'Andria addressed some of the problems she came through to release her cd called "The Awakening of Le'Andria Johnson".

'The T.O. Show': Kita Gets Pissed

Last week we found out that Kita's ex was dating her while he was "technically" married. For the record, married is married. Kita is still a wounded puppy about the relationship. Kita took the first steps in trying to date other people since that fiasco. This week, Terrell and Mo decided to do something nice for Kita. Mo noticed that flowers arrived for Kita. Kita thought for sure the flowers were from her new boo, but they were from her old boo. Kita was disappointed and refused to acknowledge it as an "olive branch". Later, the doorbell rings and in walks the old boo, the ex, Joe. Kita is shocked and smells the setup. Joe senses the tension and tries his best to assuage the situation and make Kita at ease. Nothing Joe attempts works. Joe's voice cracks alittle as he says bye to Terrell and Mo. Kita gives him the cold shower as he tries to make one last attempt at peace, civility or warmth. When the door shuts, all hells breaks loose. Kita yells at Terrell and he reminds her that it's his house and she can't yell at him and he can bring whomever he wants to the place. It just gets uglier from there.

'La La's Full Court Life': Too Much Family

La La and Carmelo are back in their home town of the NYC which also comes with its disadvantages. One disadvantage to being back home is needy friends and family. Family is always wonderful to have around unless you are feuding or worse, they need something from you. The latter is the case for La La. La La received an impromptu visit from twelve close relatives all who felt that calling in advance wasn't necessary. They brought pizzas and requests. One of the cousins made it loud and clear she wants Chicago Bulls tickets. Another relative decided after looking around, that he wanted to move in for a while. It was all about asking for things before they made the big toast for Family. Cheers.

'The Wendy Williams Show': Beyonce Food Cravings

Wendy Williams is back, finally. She kicked off her show with the usual good "Hot Topics" and zany stories of her summer tour. Wendy of course is good for some celebrity gossip and she dished out about Beyonce baby news. We all know that the Beyonce announcement was the most tweeted event in the history of twitter. Wendy confesses that she tweeted twice as a tear escaped and ran down her cheek. You know Wendy was dying inside, not being on TV when Beyonce made the big reveal/announcement. Wendy keyed in on Beyonce's food habits, we all know Wendy is a big foodie. So Beyonce's food cravings include: oreos, ice cream with chili sauce on it and bananas with ketchup. Go figure.

'Basketball Wives LA': Draya Answers the Rumors

Last week's "Basketball Wives LA" had Imani hosting a passion party. The women played a game where they described each other anonymously. One person harshly judged Draya as "Worthless". All the ladies were in shock so much so that each revealed what they said about Draya leaving Imani to be the only silent one and the obvious culprit of the nasty remark. In Monday's show, Imani invited Draya to drinks to clear the air. Imani apologized for calling Draya worthless citing that none of God's creation is worthless. Imani should have remembered that fact in the first place, stating now comes off as a bit hollow. Imani still had issues with Draya and wanted Draya to reply to the internet rumors about her being arrested and her child being taken away for reckless endangerment. Draya came out swinging, no, no, no the rumors were not true. Draya insisted that her child still lives with her and was never taken away. Draya also insisted that she has a clean house (combating another one of the rumors) and was not arrested for endangerment. In Imani's interview she tells the camera that Draya wasn't insistent enough to be believed. This is weird since there are plenty of internet rumors about Imani and most are not flattering. What is that idiom about glass houses and stones?
